DINING: Farewell to Starbucks
Seventeen local Starbucks stores are closing as part of the company's plan to ditch 600 stores nationwide.
Before you panic, though, keep in mind that most of the local stores that are closing seem to be located near other Starbucks. The jokes about a future Starbucks opening inside a Starbucks apparently were getting a little too close to reality -- or at least a little too close to comfort for the company's business model. The one on Maryland Parkway across from UNLV is closing, for example, but there is a Starbucks in the UNLV student union.
At any rate, these stores are getting the ax:
65 E Horizon Ridge Parkway (at Horizon Drive), Henderson; 2390 E. Serene Ave. (at the Beltway); 5181 W. Charleston Blvd. (at Brush Street); 7595 W. Washington Ave. (at Buffalo Drive); 3720 W. Lake Mead Blvd. (at Rancho Drive); 4810 W. Desert In Road (at Decatur Boulevard); 6100 W. Flamingo Road (at Jones Boulevard); 6515 N. Buffalo Drive (at Sky Pointe Drive); 2510 E. Tropicana Ave. (at Eastern Avenue); 1340 E. Flamingo Road (in the Mission Center); 4626 S. Maryland Parkway (across from UNLV); 8000 W. Sahara Ave. (at Buffalo Drive); 4480 S. Paradise Road (at Harmon Avenue); 5590 Painted Mirage Road (at Ann Road); 950 S. Durango Drive (at Charleston Boulevard); 1513 W. Craig Road (in the North Mesa Plaza), North Las Vegas; and 6360 N. Simmons St. (at Centennial Parkway), North Las Vegas.
