Consumer Reports magazine has announced the results of its taste-test of light and fat-free ice creams, and Haagen-Dazs Extra Rich Light Ice Cream -- Vanilla Bean and Dutch Chocolate flavors -- reigned supreme.
And I guess it's no coincidence that the two had the highest fat and calorie content of all that were sampled. It's true that the flavor's in the fat. They also cost about twice as much as the other brands tested, according to Consumer Reports. Go figure.
The magazine also tested Dreyer's/Edy's Slow Churned in vanilla and chocolate, Breyers Fat Free Double Churn in Creamy Vanilla and French Chocolate, Turkey Hill Light Recipe in Vanilla Bean and Blue Bunny Premium Light in vanilla. The full report is in the August issue.
