DINING: Of Stripping and Diving

The annual Esquire magazine list of the 100 best bars in America includes four bars in Nevada, all of them in Las Vegas. They are:
The Griffin, 511 Fremont St., for its “lively mix” of people and subtle sophistication.
Petrossian at the Bellagio, for its “glorious fish eggs” and “terrific specialty cocktails” (although I was a little puzzled by the “break from the noisy chic of the new Vegas,” since it's right off the casino floor).
The Double Down Saloon , 4640 Paradise Road, because “while it's in Vegas, it's not of Vegas.”
And “any bar on the Strip.”
Hmmm; dive bars and Strip bars. Sense a theme here?
