When you want more than just a cup of coffee, Sambalatte is the place. This sophisticated, yet casual coffeehouse makes a cup of coffee to your preference: French press, AeroPress, Chemex pot or drip brew. The menu of summer drinks includes herbal lemonade with mint, basil and rosemary, iced teas ( Mountain Berry, Ginger Peach Mango), frappes (Tahitian Vanilla, Java Chip) and refreshing smoothies, such as Samba Rise with mango and pineapple and Health Vibrations with acai berry, banana, blueberry and strawberry. Among the sandwiches are Caprese, Black Forest ham and Brie on baguette, egg or chicken salad, turkey and Swiss with cranberry and Italian cold cuts on focaccia. Popular salads are Greek, petite antipasti, berry and Caprese Stack, along with soups such as tomato bisque, potato and split pea. Anytime breakfast items include assorted muffins, scones, quiche (vegetable, salmon, egg white crustless), yogurt parfait and ham and cheese croissant. Freshly made pastries are apple strudel, cake pops, tarts (pear, apricot, lemon meringue), gourmet cupcakes, opera cake, eclairs and Napoleons. Sandwiches start at $8.50, and summer drinks begin at $3.25. Sambalatte is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. — Jack Bulavsky
