DNC will spend, and spend big
In 2006 the Democratic National Committee, then chaired by Howard Dean, didn't do enough to fertilize grassroots get-out-the vote efforts, sparking a spat between Dean and Rahm Emanuel. Now, Dean is out and Emanuel is the chief of staff for the Obama White House. And, according to Politico, Emanuel is working OT with Harry Reid and others to spend some $50 million, with an emphasis on governor's races.
Do you think Nevada's governor race will get a good chunk of that "turn out the base" money?
I bet so. But the general election race for governor is not what Rory, son of Harry, has most on his mind. He needs Gov. Jim Gibbons to knock off Brian Sandoval to have a better fighting chance in November. Don't suppose DNC money would be used for a "get out the vote" effort on Gibbon's behalf in the GOP primary. Would it?
