Don’t like the polls, send in the DoJ

There's quite an allegation swirling in political circles this morning. It essentially says that the Obama Administration used the Department of Justice to strong-arm the Gallup polling company into producing polls more favorable to the president.

There are a lot of nuances to that statement, and you read about them here.

But here's what you need to know:

A Gallup poll found Romney leading Obama 48-43. The president's David Axelrod went ballistic with Gallup staffers over methodology. Gallup stood its ground with Axelrod. Subsequently, the DoJ entered an unrelated longstanding legal fight against Gallup.

Sounds like Chicago politics to me.
