Engle Homes hosts Easter event

Engle Homes' Somerset neighborhood, located on June Avenue in North Las Vegas, recently hosted an Egg-stravaganza, that included a barbecue and Easter egg hunt that welcomed residents of the community, as well as Realtors, subcontractors, friends and staff.

The event took place in the community's private 1.5-acre park that contains two tot lots, a barbecue gazebo, walking trails, as well as a large grassy area.

Plans are in place to extend the recreation options to residents by adding a putting green located in the center of Somerset.

"Engle Homes was pleased to welcome the arrival of spring with our successful Easter Egg-stravaganza at Somerset," said Cheryl Kypreos, president of the Nevada Division of Engle Homes.

"Everyone that attended the event had a great time, and we enjoyed being able to showcase how Somerset is such wonderful of a place to call home, with its beautiful park and friendly residents."

Along with other Engle Homes staffers, Kypreos helped the festivities by hiding Easter eggs for the numerous children who attended the event.

In addition to the contribution of Engle Homes, which provided candy and lunch, neighboring businesses contributed to the event by donating special prizes for the adults in attendance. Wal-Mart, CVS and Sam's Club donated gift cards. Starbucks donated a boxed gift set and complimentary coffee.

The North Las Vegas Police Department attended the event, along with McGruff, the crime-fighting dog. McGruff was a big hit with kids who appreciated the dog's assistance, and highly attuned senses in their search for Easter eggs, candy and gift baskets.

Engle Homes' Virginia Anderson helped organize the event that brought more than 100 visitors to Somerset, where she works for the builder as a sales associate.

"We couldn't ask for a more beautiful day to gather at Somerset and celebrate the holiday with family and friends," Anderson said.

"There is a strong sense of community among the families here, and we look forward to holding more events at our park that provide fun for everyone."
