Enjoy grilled fare while raising funds for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
June 7, 2010 - 8:00 am
If you love grilled food and have a philanthropic spirit, Murphy’s Law will be the place to be today as the bar plans to host a barbecue fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 6 p.m.
The event is set to begin with a beer garden and barbecue from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by karaoke. All-you-can-drink Miller draft will be available for $15 and Guinness or Stella Artois for $25 until 9 p.m., along with hamburgers and hot dogs for $4. Ten percent of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The event also will celebrate the achievements of participants in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 6. Members from the Las Vegas chapter’s Team in Training planned to travel to California to participate.
The Team in Training program has been challenging participants to complete marathons, half marathons, triathlons, hiking events and 100-mile bike rides since 1988. Hands-on training is provided to participants, along with a network of coaches, mentors and teammates to help them reach their goals.
