ENTERTAINMENT: A ‘Crazy Girls’ movie — for real!
Reports surfaced some time ago that Norbert Aleman, the venerable producer of the durable “Crazy Girls” topless revue at the Riviera, planned to spin the title into some kind of low-budget action flick.
It seemed pretty far-fetched and easily dismissed. Sure, everyone wants to make or be in a movie, but exploitation flicks aren’t the quick bucks they used to be. Hollywood now makes the comic-book shoot’em-ups with $100 million budgets. The last few drive-ins run the same movies as the multiplexes. And gone are the mom-and-pop video stores (and now, even a lot of the chain stores) that once made it feasible for auteurs such as Andy Sidaris to film bikini Playmates with machine guns for epics such as “Malibu Express.”
Well, we don’t know how he did it — or what else is going to happen with it — but Aleman up and got his movie done and people have at least one chance to see it.
There will be a screening of “Las Vegas Crazy Girls Undercover” on Aug. 12 at the Brenden Theatres at the Palms. Some of the women from the show are in the flick. That’s about all we know for now, but this You Tube clip is enough to make grindhouse fans rejoice:
