ENTERTAINMENT: Latest ‘Believe’ delay affects VIPs
It’s getting to be a habit on this blog to announce postponements of “Criss Angel — Believe.” But the latest delay is for the big premiere party that regular ticket-buyers aren’t likely to get invited to anyway.
Ticketed previews are still set to begin Sept. 26, but the premiere has been pushed from Oct. 10 to Halloween night.
The decision was made after a Friday night “lion’s den” performance, a step for every Cirque du Soleil production in which the company’s creative directors take a hard look at the show and evaluate its progress. After this run-through, Cirque executives decided to go back to the originally scheduled five weeks of previews. “The preview period is an important part of our creative process as it allows the show to develop in front of a live audience,” Cirque spokeswoman Anita Nelving said.
The silver lining here is that preview shows are discounted by 25 percent and now there are more of them. Here is the schedule and pricing:
Sept. 26 – Oct. 6 and Oct. 26,27,28 (1 show a night at 7 p.m.)
Oct. 8 – Oct. 25 two shows a night (7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.)
The show is dark on Wed. and Thursday.
Tickets are $150, $125, $99, $79 and $59 plus tax.
