ENTERTAINMENT: This time, ‘Got Talent’ tours
“America’s Got Talent” promises its top winner will headline in Las Vegas, but three years mean three definitions. This time, the new winner and finalists will do one Oct. 8 show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, as part of the show’s first tour.
Jerry Springer will host the live event, as he did last year when the top 10 finalists settled on the Strip for a 10-week run at Planet Hollywood.
The 2008 winners performed one arena concert at the MGM Grand, but then did not tour. In 2007, winning ventriloquist Terry Fator declined a guest spot in Bally’s “Jubilee!” because he struck a separate deal to perform at the Las Vegas Hilton.
The live show, like the NBC TV hit, is produced by Fremantle Media, which is not locked into contracts with any casino corporation. AEG Live, which operates the Colosseum, will promote the 25-city tour, which launches Oct. 1 in Oakland, Calif. The Las Vegas show is the sixth on the schedule.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster outlets and the Caesars box office.
