ENTERTAINMENT: Vegas ‘Jersey Boy” performs on Tonys

Rick Faugno, who plays Frankie Valli in the Palazzo’s resident company of “Jersey Boys,” will get face time on the Tony Awards CBS broadcast on June 7, performing as part of a new segment out to promote older titles (no longer eligible for the awards) which are now out on tour.
This is good exposure for the local cast, though bad timing if you want to see Faugno here that particular Sunday.
Las Vegas otherwise doesn’t have much skin in the game when it comes to connections for this year’s nominees. “Rock of Ages,’ this year’s surprise nominee for Best Musical, survived a test run at the Flamingo in 2006.
