Family buys home in Trail Ridge by Pardee

According to Marlon and Nichole Young, they found their perfect home at Pardee Homes' Trail Ridge in southwestern Las Vegas.

The Youngs purchased Plan Four at Trail Ridge, which measures 1,778 square feet with three bedrooms and a loft, 21/2 baths and two-car garage. The floor plan is priced from $179,000.

"We spent much of the summer looking at foreclosures and even put in bids on a couple, as did dozens of other potential buyers so we never got close to getting a house," Nichole Young said. "And, nothing we saw was exactly what we were hoping for and all needed work before we could more in."

The couple and their real estate agent shifted from looking at foreclosure homes to new homes and Trail Ridge was among the first communities they toured.

"We put a deposit down before we left," Nichole Young said.

"This matched our needs so much more than anything we had seen previously and, it was new down to the appliances that were included and we were able to select the flooring."

While the couple grew up in the same community in Michigan, they met each other while working together in Las Vegas. Marlon Young is a district director for a wireless communications provider while Nichole Young is staying at home to raise their sons, Marlon Jr. and Nathaniel.

"Another bonus is the community playground and swimming pool," Marlon Young said. "Marlon Jr. spends a lot of energy daily at the play area."

Trail Ridge by Pardee Homes features LivingSmart homes starting from $159,000 in a gated community.

Located off of Agate Avenue near the northeast corner of Durango Drive and Blue Diamond Road in southwestern Las Vegas, Trail Ridge features four two-story floor plans and community amenities including a heated swimming pool, tot lot and picnic area available exclusively to residents and their guests.

Plan Two at Trail Ridge measures 1,410 square feet with three bedrooms, 21/2 baths, optional loft, dining area and family room and two-car garage.

Trail Ridge Plan Three measures 1,755 square feet and can be built with up to five bedrooms. The standard design includes three bedrooms, three baths, bonus room and two-car garage.

Trail Ridge Plan Four measures 1,778 square feet with four bedrooms, 21/2 baths and two-car garage.
