Family chooses Richmond American

Eugene and Teresa Garcia moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas seven months ago with their three children, Gene, 13, Erika, 11, and TesaLynn, 9.

The family said their search for a new home ended when they discovered Richmond American's Murano development in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley.

"When I walked into the model of the Lapin and looked around, I just had a feeling this was it," Teresa Garcia said.

"The plan is very open and offers a practical use of space," said Eugene Garcia. "We loved the layout."

The family chose the two-story, four-bedroom Lapin with 2 1/2 baths in 1,750 square feet.

The first floor features an open layout with a great room, kitchen and dining room, as well as a separate laundry area and powder room.

The second floor offers a master bedroom suite with private bath, three bedrooms and a full bath. One of the bedrooms can be selected as a bonus room or a second master bedroom with private bath. The Lapin is priced from the $320,000s.

"The price and the location were ideal," Eugene Garcia said. "The community is in a very nice area, yet it's not too far out or secluded."

Murano is located near Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, in proximity to shopping, dining and the Strip.

"This is our first new home, and our Home Care Specialist, Lynn, was so helpful," Teresa Garcia said.

In addition to the Lapin, the neighborhood offers the 1,550-square-foot Ranier, priced from the low $300,000s.

The 1,450-square-foot Lambert is priced from the low $300,000s and features an open layout with a great room, dining room, and kitchen with a food-preparation island on the main floor.

Priced from the $280,000s, the 1,300-square-foot Mahogany opens onto a living room area, while the kitchen, nook and staircase are located toward the back of the home. Both homes offer an optional loft upstairs.

To visit, take the beltway to Jones Boulevard and go south, then go west on Warm Springs Road. The sales center and model homes are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Friday when they open at noon.
