Family sticks with Summerlin lifestyle

Christopher and Amber Serrano moved into their third Summerlin home a little more than two years ago when they purchased a house in The Mesa village.

"We love the floor plan and location of the home, which is close to the Spring Mountains," Amber Serrano said. "It's a great place for us to live."

The Serranos are one of many families living in The Mesa village.

"We've met several new friends in our neighborhood," Amber Serrano said. "The relationships we've forged with neighbors are an added perk. We feel so blessed to be in such a beautiful area, in a home we love and close to wonderful new friends."

Prior to moving to The Mesa village, the Serranos lived in Summerlin Centre and The Hills village.

"We've lived in Summerlin since 2000 and consider it our home community," Christopher Serrano said. "It's our address of choice over and over again."

The Mesa village is Summerlin's newest and most southern village developed to date. Upon completion, the 500-acre desert contemporary-inspired village will be home to several neighborhoods, dozens of parks, educational facilities and a house of worship.

The village is already home to the 35-acre Bishop Gorman High School, a Catholic college preparatory school that opened in 2007; and The Mesa Park, a 19-acre village park with three Little League baseball fields including one with a concession stand, lighted tennis and basketball courts, a tot lot area and picnic ramadas.

There are 13 floor plans selling in two neighborhoods in The Mesa village. Ladera Canyon by Richmond American Homes features nine floor plans that range from 1,750 to 2,800 square feet and are priced starting in the upper $200,000s.

Ladera Crest by KB Home features four floor plans ranging from 1,867 to 2,835 square feet and are priced starting in the upper-$100,000s.

Select floor plans feature stone exteriors, diverse architectural details, three-car garages and a variety of outdoor living areas including courtyards, loggias and miradors.

"Outdoor living areas are popular in Summerlin's western neighborhoods, including The Mesa village given its close proximity to the Spring Mountains," said Julie Cleaver, vice president of design and planning for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin. "The neighboring mountains offer village residents a sense of exclusivity as well as a picturesque backdrop."

To visit the model homes at Ladera, travel south on Town Center Drive and east on Mesa Park Drive.

Homes are available in a variety of styles -- from single-family homes to townhomes, condominiums and lofts -- priced from the upper $100,000s to more than $2 million.
