Fightin’ mad conservatives

This is civil discourse?
Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., will take their whacks at a piñata named after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and a punching bag named after Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.
The Hill, a Washington-based political publication reported on the planned activities for the conference (read the story here).
An organizer tried to explain to the magazine that beating up replicas of politicians wasn't meant to be hostile:
Ford C. O'Connell, chairman of the CivicForumPAC, said the Pelosi “Budget” piñata represents the bloated budget promoted by Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who are the faces of big government.
"It is the policies of big government that we are trying to whack or punch, not Speaker Pelosi and Sen. Reid," O'Connell said.
