Finance report deadline approaching
The Oct. 15 deadline for third quarter campaign finance reports is coming up for folks in federal races. In the meantime, here's a tidbit from the last reporting period.
It's a $40,337 payment from the Reid Victory Fund to Scout Tours made on June 23 for "performance expenses." The Reid Victory Fund is one of the fund-raising entities for Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.
Scout Tours is the tour for singer Sheryl Crow. It's named after Crow's now-deceased former pet dog, Scout, according to a 2006 article in USA Today.
Crow performed at a May fundraiser for Reid at Caesars Palace. President Barack Obama attended the event and Bette Midler also performed.
