Findlay Chevrolet sponsoring child fingerprint event

Findlay Chevrolet in Henderson is sponsoring a DNA LifePrint child safety event from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14 at the dealership, 993 Auto Show Drive.

The event provides parents with tools that are recommended by the FBI and the Department of Justice to help keep their children safe. Parents are given a biometric 10-digit fingerprint profile and high-resolution color digital photograph of their child, a child safety journal and a home DNA identification kit.

Biometrics are endorsed by John Walsh, a crime investigator and human rights advocate. They are the most advanced technology available for obtaining fingerprints. When the child's fingerprints are entered into the FBI database, they become immediately available to all law enforcement agencies in the United States.

There is no cost to participants, and what they take home is the only record of their children's information.
