Findlay RV sales manager mixes business with fun

Findlay RV Sales Manager John McKibbin has been in Las Vegas for about eight years. A native of Philadelphia, he appreciates what Southern Nevada has to offer and gets a thrill out of introducing people to the fun associated with a motor home or recreational vehicle.

With a long list manufacturers and models, McKibbin has an array of virtually every possible way to enjoy the outdoors of not only Southern Nevada but surrounding states at the same time. From small camp trailers to motor homes stretching 42 feet, there’s enough product to satisfy everything from the first-time camper to retirees wanting to see the country in an RV.

“I came out here for the weather and I have never been sorry I made the move,” said the 49-year-old McKibbin while quickly handling paperwork during a busy day at Findlay RV at 4530 Boulder Highway. “Especially from an wwRV standpoint, this is some of the most interesting country you’ll ever explore. Add to the fact that we’re so close to many places to visit and Las Vegas is the perfect hub.”

In McKibbin’s eyes, the beach, the mountains and the snow along with fishing and hunting are the perfect distance away when utilizing an RV or motor home.

A veteran of more than seven years in the RV business, he was talked into the business after working in both the automobile industry and a small startup company that capitalized on the development of restaurants.

“The people who own a motor home or RV are happy people,” McKibbin said. “I never realized that before I got into the industry.

“This job is seriously a lot of fun because you’re around people who are having the time of their lives.

“I didn’t know anything about the RV/motor home business when I got into it. In fact, I had never even been in one. However, I can say now that this may be one of the most fascinating jobs that I have ever had.”

Equally important is the fact that Findlay RV has rich history in Southern Nevada dating back more than 40 years. In addition, the dealership parts department has been remodeled to house state-of-the-art equipment while a high-tech body shop is rated among the best in the country.

“Findlay RV has everything anyone could possibly need,” said McKibbin. “We always have a good array of RVs and motor homes and with the service and parts departments along with the body shop, this dealership is as full-service as any you’ll ever find.”

Findlay RV is headed by General Manager Reuben Figueroa.

“John has excellent people skills,” said Figueroa, who has been in the RV business for 11 years and 18 years in the car business. “We’re very excited to have him with us. We had a lot of people to choose from, and John stood head-and-shoulders above the rest. He makes fellow employees feel at ease, and he does the same for our customers.”
