First five holes at Del Webb/Sun City Mesquite community set for tee-off
August 2, 2008 - 9:00 pm
The first five holes of the Conestoga Golf Course, an 18-hole public course at Del Webb's Sun City Mesquite community, have been completed as construction of homes and community amenities continues at a rapid pace, according to sales manager Lila Williams.
The community holds the distinction of being Del Webb's best-selling age-qualified development in Nevada, Williams said.
"We are now just over one- year new at Sun City Mesquite," she said, "and we are very pleased with the enthusiasm home buyers have demonstrated for this magnificent collection of home designs and the unsurpassed location afforded by the Mesquite area."
Sun City Mesquite offers a selection of 14 single-story homes ranging from as much as 1,200 to 3,100 square feet with two- or three-car garages. Prices start in the low $190,000s.
Williams said the community's popularity has prompted Del Webb to recently begin selling homes in the new Saddle Horn area of Sun City Mesquite, which offers golf course home sites. She said "spectacular" home sites are also available near the community's future Conestoga Golf Club House.
"Mesquite offers a small-town quality of life, better air quality, less traffic and a very attractive cost of living," Williams said. "It also offers more entertainment options than most small towns, plus the excitement of Las Vegas is just a short drive to the south, while the natural beauty of Utah's national parks is just to the north."
In addition to entertainment, Williams said, Mesquite provides close access to lifestyle amenities such as retail, dining, medical and professional services.
In addition, Del Webb has introduced a new design to its selection of model homes. The Joshua is a single-story home offering 3,075 square feet with dual master bedroom suites and a third expanded bedroom with private bath. The design accomodates guests easily, Williams said, particularly families who may wish to jointly purchase a vacation home.
Sun City Mesquite features a 30,000-square-foot community recreation center with a range of recreational and social opportunities. The facility offers a large, climate-controlled outdoor swimming pool, heated spa, two-story fitness center with an upper level walking track, resident's kitchen, a large central hall, a lounge with a plasma screen television, computer kiosks, and rooms designated for various classes, hobbies and clubs.
An 18-hole putting green is a highlight of the outdoor area. The green and the 18-hole public course, The Conestoga, were both designed by Gary Panks & Associates. Other outdoor features include lounge chairs and ample shaded areas about the pool; as well as tennis, bocce and pickle ball courts.
To visit, take Interstate-15 north to exit 120 and make a sharp left turn onto Falcon Ridge. Follow Falcon Ridge past Mesa View Hospital and Hardy Way. Turn right on Flat Top Mesa Drive and continue to the Sun City Mesquite model village.
