Fisher wins at fed court in county paving contract dispute

From U.S. District Court comes word that Fisher Sand and Gravel is in the process of prevailing in its dispute with Las Vegas Paving over a lucrative road contract with Clark County.

Fisher under bid Las Vegas Paving by more than $4 million, but still lost out on a job worth more than $100 million.

Today, sources report U.S. District Judge Robert Jones made it clear that not only did Fisher deserve to win the contract on the merits, but that he would rule in their favor.

This story has the potential to cause serious political damage to the members of the Clark County Commission who defended the Las Vegas Paving bid despite its shortcomings. To some, the dispute is a showdown between the union-backed LVP and the nonunion Fisher.

More to come.
