The Clark County coroner’s office has not yet determined a cause in the late February death of Jon Corchis, a former longtime MGM Grand International financial officer.

Corchis, 44, died Feb. 23 at his Henderson home, a coroner’s spokesperson said. His obituary published Sunday in the Review-Journal mentioned his integral role in the creation of MGM’s CityCenter project, but didn’t mention his current work status. An MGM spokesperson said Corchis was not with the company at the time of his death.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Corchis received an MBA from UNLV and a bachelor’s of science in fnance from the University of Detroit. He was named Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CityCenter in 2009 after serving in a similar capacity at Bellagio. He joined the company in 1993 and also worked at The Mirage and the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Miss.
