Former NFL wide receiver lists homeReal Estate Paparazzi

Pass receiver Dedric Ward was a part of five NFL teams -- New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys -- during an eight-season pro career. He tallied 103 regular-season games, including 26 starts.

Hailing from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the 33-year-old Ward now splits his time between Arizona, where he is a quality control coach with the Cardinals' offensive unit, and off-season living in Las Vegas.

On Oct. 9, Ward listed his Southern Highlands 4,391-square-foot home on a quarter-acre lot with Realtor Mark Sivek, GRI, with Prudential Americana Group for $849,900. Ward bought the property in June 2003 for $463,325. He wrapped up his playing career with the Cowboys in 2004.

On a corner lot with four bedrooms, four baths and a paradise backyard with outdoor heated waterfall pool and spa, the Southern Highlands residence offers an upstairs master bedroom with balcony and a master bath complete with jetted tub. A private bedroom with its own bath is located on the first floor. A winding staircase showcases a dramatic front entry.

Asked in a phone interview what his greatest joy is, Ward said his 4-year-old son, Mason. While it is too soon to tell if he will follow in his dad's footsteps, Ward said, "I am enjoying my son and do all the fun stuff I wish I had done as a kid."

Regarding the Las Vegas market, Sivek said, "As a Realtor, I am tired of the negative press regarding real estate here in the valley. Las Vegas is very much a dynamic city, full of growth. Look at all of the building going on. Looking on the positive side, this is a great market to be a buyer. The savvy real estate investor realizes that the best deals are made on the buy side."
