Glynda Rhodes of Rhodes Homes was recently recognized by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada during its Board of Directors' Appreciation Luncheon held at Maggiano's Little Italy inside the Fashion Show Mall March 19.
Rhodes Homes has been an active partner in the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, sponsoring wish children and getting involved in fundraisers and other events benefiting the organization.
Kendall Tenney, chairman of the board for Make-A-Wish in Southern Nevada, presented Rhodes with a commemorative photo album and plaque in honor of the contributions Rhodes Homes has made to the organization.
Her husband, Jim Rhodes, is president of the company.
"Jim and Glynda Rhodes have been instrumental in helping us to continue our work at the Make-A-Wish Foundation and we thank them for their ongoing support," Tenney said.
"Their support is invaluable in making wishes come true for children in Southern Nevada who are dealing with life-threatening conditions."
As the presenting sponsor for Tenney's 5K Run For A Wish Feb. 2, Rhodes Homes lent its support to the annual event, which is the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada's largest fundraiser of the year.
Rhodes Homes supported the seventh Run For A Wish with the participation of several dozen employees and a $75,000 donation.
"We are honored to be recognized by the Make-A-Wish Foundation," said Glynda Rhodes, vice president of interior and architectural design at Rhodes Homes.
"Our partnership with their organization allows us to demonstrate our commitment to the children in our community and especially those dealing with medical issues. Make-A-Wish is a wonderful organization that we are proud to be a part of."
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada granted 121 wishes to local children last year, and assisted nearly 60 children visiting Las Vegas to have their own wishes granted.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada chapter was founded in 1996. Those interested in contacting the organization to offer their support or give a referral may call 212-9474.
