Friendly Ford sponsors child safety, fingerprinting event Saturday
September 7, 2012 - 1:10 am
Friendly Ford is bringing the DNA LifePrint program to Las Vegas free of charge Saturday. The child safety event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the dealership, 660 N. Decatur Blvd.
This event is part of the DNA LifePrint Child Safety Alliance, a national program designed to reach millions of children nationwide that is endorsed by John Walsh, host of "America's Most Wanted."
"It is imperative that we have events like this for the safety of the children of Southern Nevada," Friendly Ford General Manager Jason Davis said. "We have an opportunity to help protect our kids and DNA LifePrint has the technology to do just that."
DNA LifePrint will assist each child with a biometric 10-digit fingerprint profile, high-resolution digital photograph and a home DNA identification kit complete with a child safety journal. These items are then given to parents to keep at home, making them readily available for law enforcement if the child is reported missing.
Also joining the event and offering valuable information to Southern Nevadans is Safe Kids of Clark County, which will provide car seat safety checks; McGruff the Crime Dog, Metro City Volunteers and Crime Stoppers.
Friendly Ford welcomes parents and their children to stop by and enjoy the activities while taking advantage of this worthwhile safeguarding program.
Friendly Ford, which has served the valley for 42 years, is a One Ford Elite winner and a 13-time President's Award Winner, Ford's highest honor for customer satisfaction and excellence.
