Fun Zone prepares for spring open
April 7, 2007 - 9:00 pm
Preparing for a spring opening, the asphalt tennis courts have been poured and the landscape is nearly finished at the Fun Zone Water Park at Rhodes Ranch.
According to Virginia Kaplan, program manager for The R-Club at Rhodes Ranch, the water park and pools will be open and fully functional from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
"We recently laid the asphalt for the four tennis courts in Rhodes Ranch and will be installing the fence enclosure and nets," said Pete Rahill, senior project manager for Rhodes Design and Development. "We are in the final stages of construction on the aquatics complex and adjoining recreational features."
The 7-acre site will include indoor and outdoor recreation for members of the community, to feature a 13,000-square-foot lagoon pool with wading areas, a 10,000-square-foot water park with three speed slides, five kid slides, rope bridges, squirt gun stations and a 1,000-gallon feature bucket that fills and tips over every half hour.
"We are in the process of developing an informational and safety video for the water park, since the safety of our residents is a top priority," Kaplan said.
"Our aquatics manager is in the process of hiring the lifeguards and developing a training program for them as well. We are very excited about having this incredible amenity to offer the residents and cannot wait until it opens."
To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Durango Drive, and then go south to Rhodes Ranch Parkway. Prices in Rhodes Ranch start in the $300,000s.
Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
