Gaudin Porsche celebrates arrival of 2013 Boxster
July 6, 2012 - 1:07 am
In typical grand fashion, the VIP guest list for the 2013 Porsche Boxster launch at Gaudin Porsche included a host of local Porsche owner enthusiasts, the Porsche Club of America, Porsche Design Studio/Las Vegas and guests from as far away as Canada and Mexico.
Held in the private auto collection museum of owner-dealership principal Gary Ackerman, 10 vintage Porsche models captured the attention and spirit of the brand, founded by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche in the late 1920s.
As General Manager Jim Mooradian addressed the 200 guests, the cloaked 2013 Boxster S cars were revealed, noting styling cues from the racing heritage of the Carrera GT and Spyder 550.
The new convertible design includes a longer wheelbase, raked windshield and larger wheels, defining the sleek, wedge-shaped silhouette. Artfully wrapped into the body are new head- and taillights, and enhanced air intakes for a more powerful appearance.
"The new Boxster personifies Ferry Porsche's vision, not only in aesthetic beauty but ultimate performance on the road or track," Mooradian said. "I encourage everyone to come take a test-drive, if only to say they have experienced a Porsche roadster from behind the wheel. What a thrill."
Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas, at 7200 W. Sahara Ave., is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
