Germany’s Pius Heinz continues to lead Main Event after 50 hands

At the second break, following nearly two hours of play Sunday, none of the nine players had been eliminated in the Main Event.

But Germany’s Pius Heinz, who began the day in seventh place, was the chip leader after 50 hands with 49.95 million in chips. Martin Staszko of the Czech Republic, who began the day in first place, was in second with 43.525 million.

The biggest tumble belonged to Eoghan O’Dea of Ireland, who fell from second to sixth place with 13.035 million.

The game turned on the 39th hand when O’Dea lost a 44 million pot to Heinz.

American Matt Giannetti continued to hold on the third place with 26.525 million.

When play resumes, the blinds will increase to 400,000 and 800,000 with 100,000 in antes.
