Golfers swing to benefit Henderson Chamber and Nevada State College

Tuscany Golf Club in Henderson was the site of American Pacific Corp.'s 16th annual Swing for Success Golf Classic. Proceeds from the charity golf tournament benefited the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and Nevada State College in Henderson.

"We were proud to be sponsors of this event," said Glynda Rhodes, an executive with Rhodes Homes and a Henderson Chamber board member. "We thought this was a great way to give back to the community that is now home to one of our best-selling communities, Tuscany Residential Village."

Rhodes Homes and Tuscany Golf Club sponsored the May 11 tournament.

"This is the second year we donated the use of the golf course for the Swing for Success golf tournament," said Rhodes. "We wanted to make sure that the proceeds could be used for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and Nevada State College instead of going towards the greens fees."

The tournament raised nearly $60,000 through the sale of sponsorships, raffle prizes and mulligans.

"Supporting education that benefits businesses and the community in Henderson is one of the priorities of the Chamber," said Alice Martz, chief executive officer of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. "And we are very fortunate to have great community partners, like Rhodes Homes, who share this vision and help us achieve it."

When Tuscany Residential Village is complete, a road will link 18 neighborhoods around the 18-hole, Ted Robinson Jr.-designed golf course community. To visit the community and models, take Lake Mead Drive past Boulder Highway to Mohawk Drive and turn left.

Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information, call 873-7287 or visit rhodeshomes.com.
