Goodwill set to open first Centennial Hills location
Centennial Hills is about to get its first Goodwill Store and Drive-Thru Donation Center and its first thrift store.
Special education students from Centennial High School helped Goodwill of Southern Nevada break ground on May 14 on North Durango Drive near Deer Springs Way.
The students are part of the nonprofit’s Student Work Experience Program, which provides more than 600 Clark County School District special education students from about 30 schools an opportunity to develop valuable and life-changing work-related skills in a real-world environment.
“As a Goodwill of Southern Nevada board member for more than a decade, I have seen firsthand how this nonprofit changes lives in our community,” said Penny Mendlovic, CBRE Las Vegas, in a recent press release. “We are thrilled to be part of Goodwill’s growth.”
Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Mayor Pro Tem and Ward 6 Councilman Steve Ross also attended the groundbreaking.
The 17,000-square-foot build-to-suit retail store is set to feature a 12,000-square-foot sales floor and plans to open in the late summer or early fall 2015.
