Government at work — ‘Let’s par-tay!’

It is shocking, as CNN's Wolf Blitzer says in this report, that almost four years into the Obama Administration this kind of wasteful spending happened. It's also embarrassing considering President Obama two years ago used Las Vegas as a punching bag for profligate spending.

But it's always worse when there's video.

Catch a glimpse in the link above of the General Services Administration $820,000 party in Las Vegas. And remember, Congressional hearings are coming so you can bet it's going to get more embarrassing for all concerned.

PS: Why did it take 11 months for this wildly stupid (and systematic) spending to become public? I'd like to hear the answer to that.

PPS: Take note of the GSA "incentive program" that gifted government employees with iPods and GPS devices. What's that all about? Do we need to bribe government workers to do their jobs well and how widespread is that practice in the self-proclaimed "most transparent" government America has ever known?
