Happy Nevada Day! (Where’s Harry?)

Happy 145th birthday, Nevada. It's been a hard year for the Silver State. We may have suffered more than any state in the union in this recession and on the current trajectory it looks like we're going to suffer the longest, too.

But, we still have a lot going for us if we can maintain our integrity as a freedom loving, low tax, live-and-let-live state. So long as we can count those attributes as one of our many blessings, we'll be fine.

Sen. Harry Reid delivered a Nevada Day speech on the Senate floor yesterday. It's worth the read.

Which reminds me, it's been reported to me that Harry wasn't at the Nevada Day parade in Carson City today. I hope our senior senator had the good graces to return from Washington to be in the state for its birthday.

Anybody know for sure?
