Harron opens Bedford

Harron Homes has opened Bedford Estates and Alpine Vista Estates that feature Smart House technology.
This is not a one-of-a-kind concept; there are plenty of builders in the custom market offering a wide variety of integrated control systems, according to Sean Harron, president of Harron Homes. The home builder is offering the technology as a standard feature built into every home.
"The time has come for houses to be as smart as the people living in them," Harron said. "With our busy lives and daily integration with technology for business, education and recreation, the home should be the center or hub of your daily function and interaction with those technologies. Just like you access your office server via laptops or PDAs, you should have the same kind of access to your home environment to monitor its efficient operation, security controls and systems functions for maximized comfort and family involvement."
Harron Homes has teamed up with Steve Stott, owner of CSI Las Vegas (csilv.net), the area's top Smart House integrator. CSI has designed some of the largest automation systems on the West Coast.
The automation system used for Harron Homes takes the Smart Home concept to the next level, Harron said. The Harron Homes projects are designed around the Control 4 home automation system, including lighting control, heating and cooling, house audio and video distribution, security cameras, pool and spa controls, irrigation, a Russound intercom system, as well as the structured wiring package, networking and Internet access throughout the house.
"The system is so simple, my 4-year-old can operate it," Stott said.
The system can be controlled on multiple touch screens from hand-held remote controls, and using on-screen navigators displayed on any of the four plasma TVs that are included. The home can also be monitored and controlled remotely via the Internet. Custom lighting scenes that fit any mood are as easy as pushing one button on any of the numerous keypads in the home.
Four-hundred DVDs and thousands of CDs and MP3s are stored in a central location, but can be played in any room. Control 4 offers a full product line of lighting devices, thermostats, touch screens and media controllers for a fluid continuous look around the home, Harron said.
Harron Homes is the newest division of Harron Construction Services Inc., which has been building high-end remodels, commercial facilities and master plan infrastructure in the Las Vegas community for almost a decade.
