Hate to lose Randy Capurro

I suppose it's a little sappy to think there was a time when politics in Nevada wasn't such a blood sport. Perhaps it always was and always will be for a certain number of people as political gangs seek power.

But when I think of Randy Capurro, who died last night, I think of a guy who operated in a time a space that seemed very much less vicious. He certainly had his political ideas (and they mostly coincided with mine), but I never remember him as anything other than kind to those with other ideas. Always smiling, knowing that in a small state we still had to get along as people no matter our political sides.

I guess I am getting sappy. I'm going to miss Randy Capurro.
