Heller raised $166,000 in last three months
Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., raised $166,000 in the second quarter of 2009, according to his report filed today with the Federal Election Commission.
His total fundraising for the current election cycle stands at $265,000 and his cash on hand total is $255,000 — but his campaign is also continuing to carry $287,000 in debt.
Those numbers aren't impressive if Heller wants to challenge Sen. Harry Reid next year, especially in light of Reid's $7.3 million on hand.
At this point in 2007, Heller had raised $233,000 for the quarter and had $469,000 on hand. That's not counting that massive campaign debt, which was $100,000 bigger then than it is now.
