HENDERSON ANIMAL CONTROL TO CLOSE ON MONDAYS

The Henderson Animal Care and Control Facility, 300 Galleria Drive, is set to close on Mondays starting Nov. 3. The facility’s hours are scheduled to remain the same from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with adoption kennels closing at 4:30 p.m.

CHILDREN’S CLOTHING SWAP SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 8

The city of Henderson plans a children’s clothing swap for from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St. Participants can drop off clean, gently used clothing from newborn to size 8 through Nov. 6 to receive tickets to the swap event. All leftover clothing is to be donated to charity.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM TO RUN NOV. 3 THROUGH DEC. 13

The city of Henderson plans its junior lifeguard program from Nov. 3 to Dec. 13. The program is set to teach children ages 12 to 15 hands-on lifeguarding skills and how to assist with swim lessons. The cost is $50. Visit cityofhenderson.com/parks.

CITY OF HENDERSON PLANS MEETINGS

The city of Henderson plans its next City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 4 and planning commission meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at Henderson City Hall, 240 S. Water St.

COMPUTER CLASS SET TO TEACH MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7

An introduction to computers class is planned from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway. The class is set to cover the basic components of Microsoft Windows 7. The class is limited to 12 participants.
