RESIDENTS INVITED TO POLAR BEAR PLUNGE
The city of Henderson is scheduled to host the Polar Bear Plunge at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway.
Participants are to ride down slides and plunge into cold water. The event is also slated to have winter treats, activities and a bounce house.
Admission is $5 per person.

SEMINAR ADVISES PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT
Career consultant PJ Sheldon is slated to speak at a Career Connections seminar at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway.
The workshop is titled "The Hidden Job Market" and is expected to discuss resources for finding employment.
The event is free, but registration is required.

HENDERSON'S STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS PLANNED FOR JAN. 31
Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen is scheduled to give the State of the City address at noon Jan. 31 at the Grand Events Center inside Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway.
The event is expected to have remarks from Rick Smith, chairman of the board of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.

VALENTINE'S DAY DANCE OFFERED FOR FATHERS AND DAUGHTERS
A father and daughter Valentine's Day dance is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.
The event is expected to feature music, dancing, games and refreshments.
Registration is $5 per person and open for girls ages 3 to 12 and their fathers.

HENDERSON FIREFIGHTERS DONATE TO RED CROSS CAMPAIGN
Henderson Professional Fire Fighters and the Henderson Fire Fighter Benevolent Association recently contributed $2,000 to the "Fire Hurts, Red Cross Helps" campaign.
Money donated is expected to help victims who have been displaced from their homes because of a fire.
The groups' goal is to raise $300,000 to fund emergency assistance for local families.
HENDERSON TO HOST KIDS NIGHT OUT
The city of Henderson has scheduled a Kids Night Out at 6 p.m. Friday at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.
The event will feature games, movies and arts and crafts.
Children from 6 to 12 can attend the event, which costs $10 per person.

POOLSIDE MOVIE EVENT AT WHITNEY RANCH TO SHOW 'ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT'
The city of Henderson is planning to host a poolside movie event at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Whitney Ranch Indoor Pool, 1575 C Galleria Drive.
"Ice Age: Continental Drift" is slated to be shown.
Admission will be $1 to $2 per person. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

WOMEN'S FAIR FEATURES HEALTH-RELATED VENDORS AND SPEAKERS
The Hadassah Southern Nevada Chapter is scheduled to present "Healthy Women, Healthy Lives" from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde Drive.
The event is expected to feature a vendor fair and breakout sessions from various speakers talking about health-related issues. The cost is $18.
