COX to bROADCAST LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATIONS
Cox Communications plans to broadcast local high school graduation ceremonies through June 24. The broadcasts, originating from The Orleans Arena and the Thomas & Mack Center, are to be available on Cox channel 96 or online at cox96.net. Graduation ceremonies not held at those venues will not be broadcast.
Henderson high school graduations scheduled to air are: Basic at noon today; College of Southern Nevada South at 3 p.m. Wednesday; Liberty at 6 p.m. June 21; Green Valley at noon June 23; and Coronado at 9 a.m. June 24.
SEMINAR to discuss
CHRONIC PAIN SOLUTIONS
The Foundation for Wellness Professionals is slated to host a health seminar from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Whole Foods, 100 S. Green Valley Parkway. Participants are expected to learn about solutions to chronic pain and fatigue. The seminar is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

City hopes to set record
for world's largest swimming lesson
Children participating in the city of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department's regularly scheduled swimming lessons at 9 a.m. Thursday will be part of the World's Largest Swimming Lesson, a worldwide event designed to reinforce the message of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. Nine city pools are expected to participate.
Last year's event succeeded in setting a Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson with 19,332 participants around the world.

GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY plans MEETING
The Clark County Genealogical Society has scheduled its monthly meeting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway.
The group plans to meet in the conference room. The free event is open to the public.
Learn ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS at seminar
The Foundation for Wellness Professionals is scheduled to offer a free seminar on weight loss from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Republic Kitchen & Bar, 9740 S. Eastern Ave.

residents group set to meet
Downtown Henderson residents are invited to attend the next meeting of the new Downtown Residential Civic Alliance at 6 p.m. June 19 in the conference room in the city of Henderson's City Hall Annex, 280 S. Water St.
The organization is being spearheaded by the city's Redevelopment Agency to provide a forum for downtown Henderson residents to share their input and concerns regarding issues that affect their neighborhood.

Liberty High School to host
basketball camp july 16-20
Liberty High School, 3750 Liberty Heights Ave., is scheduled to host a basketball camp for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade from 9 a.m. to noon July 16-20.

Registration for the Henderson parks and recreation department's summer classes, events and programs is under way. People can register online at cityofhenderson.com/parks or at a self-serve kiosk at any of the city's recreation centers. Registration is expected to stay open pending space availability.
