GARDEN CLUB to host MONTHLY MEETING

The GWFC Green Valley Woman's Club business meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today at Findlay Toyota, 7733 Eastgate Road.

Black Mountain to host golf event

Black Mountain Golf and Country Club, 500 Greenway Road, is slated to host its fourth annual memorial golf tournament at 11 a.m. Saturday. The tournament is to benefit Eagles Basic Aerie 2672.

Ward 4 NEIGHBORHOOD CONNECTION MEETING planned for Wednesday

Henderson City Councilman Sam Bateman is slated to host his first Ward 4 Neighborhood Connection meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway.

Ward 4 residents are invited to meet Bateman, ask questions or make comments.

Mayor Andy Hafen and other city of Henderson staff members are expected to attend.

LAW FIRM plans SEMINAR ON BANKRUPTCY

The Law Office of Stovall and Associates plans to present a seminar about bankruptcy from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 17, Feb. 28 and March 13 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway.

The seminar is expected to discuss when bankruptcy is the right choice and what other options people have.

HENDERSON OFFERS TREE recycling

Henderson is recycling holiday trees until Monday .

People should remove any nonorganic materials such as ornaments or lights.

Trees can be dropped off at Acacia Park, 50 Casa Del Fuego St.; Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Drive; Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Drive; Morrell Park, 500 Harris St.; Pecos Legacy Park, 150 Pecos Road; and Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive.

Participation is free.

The city of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is scheduled to host a trails tour from 8 to 10 a.m. Jan. 21 starting at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway.

The bus tour highlights current and upcoming parks and trails in Henderson.

ARCHERY is coming to the South Point

The 2012 National Field Archery Association's World Archery Festival is scheduled for Feb. 10-12 at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The event is expected to feature the latest bows, arrows, accessories, optics, videos, clothing and targets. A shooting competition with a three-spot 20-yard "Vegas Round" also is scheduled.
