CITY SEEKS ENTRIES FOR PHOTO CONTEST
The city of Henderson is seeking entries for its “What Makes Henderson Great” photo contest.
To enter, people can take photos of things such as landscapes, landmarks, friends, animals, sports or portraits.
All items must be recognizably Henderson and taken within the city.
It is free to enter, but competitors can submit only up to five photos.
Winning photos are slated to be displayed at City Hall and at cityofhenderson.com.
Applicants must submit photos by Dec. 21.

ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER RECEIVES DESIGNATION
Bristol Ellington, the city of Henderson’s assistant city manager, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association.
More than 1,300 government management professionals are credentialed through the program.
To receive the credentials, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and have demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity.

LOCAL ULTRA-ENDURANCE ATHLETE RACING FOR THREE SQUARE
Jayson Black, a local ultra-endurance athlete, is pursuing a challenge to benefit Three Square food bank. Beginning Nov. 28 Black set out to run 26 marathons in 26 consecutive days — a total of 681.2 miles — to raise awareness about Three Square food bank’s mission. The public is invited to join his race Saturdays at Anytime Fitness Seven Hills, 855 Seven Hills Drive, where Black plans to run marathons on a treadmill for approximately five hours at a time. Community members are invited to drop off canned food for Three Square. Monetary donations can also be made by visiting crowdrise.com and searching for 26X26.
POST OFFICES COLLECT ITEMS FOR TOY DRIVE
Several Henderson post offices are accepting toys to contribute to Toys for Tots.
People can drop off items at the Henderson Main Post Office, 404 S. Boulder Highway; the Valle Verde Post Office, 1575 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway; the Seven Hills Post Office, 3055 St. Rose Parkway; and the Green Valley Post Office, 2722 N. Green Valley Parkway.
The gifts must be new and unwrapped.
