Here’s an early peek at Tarkanian’s campaign cash

Republican Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian is scheduled to announce how much money he's raised so far in his bid to challenge Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.

The announcement is scheduled for a conference call at 1:15 p.m., but here's a sneak peek at the numbers, via a source who saw the paperwork.

So far, Tarkanian has raised $271,331.63 during a period from about Aug. 21 when he announced to Sept. 30, the end of the reporting period.

Nearly $21,000 was in loans from himself. Another $115,631.96 came from contributions of more than $200. Contributions below $200 accounted for $129,802.26.

Cash on hand Sept. 30 was $204.523.95.

Expect the campaign to tout the overall number of donors, which was 6,780.

Reid is also expected to release his third-quarter numbers today.
