Home builder sponsors 10K Cowboy Run

In conjunction with the Clark County Fair, the Valley Heights neighborhood by Southwest Homes presents the first annual Logandale Cowboy Run & Family Walk April 12. The highlight of the event will be a 10K race benefitting Candlelighters and Safe Nest of Nevada.

Runners from Nevada and throughout the Southwest will start and finish at the Valley Heights model homes, running a scenic course around Bowman Lake and the foothills overlooking the fairgrounds. The Logandale Cowboy Run offers an opportunity for competitive and casual runners to enjoy a dash through picturesque Logandale, located about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Safe Nest, Candlelighters childhood cancer foundation, and Safe Nest domestic violence prevention and victims charities.

The cost of participating in the 10K event is $20 per adult for those who register by March 28. The 10K fee is $25 for those registering March 29 or later. Visit runnercard.com to register or to find more information on sign-up fees for children age 10 and younger.

The Clark County Fair & Rodeo is one of Southern Nevada's most famous community events. Started in 1965, the fair has grown to become the largest county fair in the Silver State. The annual celebration features a diversity of traditional American county fair entertainment, including a rodeo, carnival, music, barbecue cook-offs, livestock shows and art exhibits. Valley Heights offers estate homes on oversized sites. Designed to complement the wide-open spaces of the surrounding mountains, residences at Valley Heights measure from 2,700 to more than 5,000 square feet, and each home is built on a half-acre lot. Homes are priced from the high $300,000s.
