Horizon Park provides family style atmosphere
Centex Homes' Horizon Park provides a family oriented neighborhood in North Las Vegas, according to sales agent April Edwards.
"Horizon Park is surrounded by North Las Vegas' most sought-after amenities, everything from lush parks and state-of-the-art libraries to a planetarium, observatory and rock climbing center," Edwards said. "When home buyers visit Horizon Park and learn about the impressive area attractions, they quickly see that North Las Vegas is one of the country's fastest growing cities for good reason. Residents have recreational and cultural offerings at their fingertips without Las Vegas' hectic pace."
People who like to stay active and involved with their neighbors have plenty of opportunities to participate in group sports and activities organized by North Las Vegas, Edwards said. Many of the games and practices are held at Silver Mesa Recreation Center, located just a few blocks from Horizon Park.
"People of various skill levels can participate in North Las Vegas' basketball, soccer and softball leagues. Best of all, parents don't have to travel far to get kids to practices and games," she said. "Public transportation routes run through this area with a bus stop located just outside Horizon Park. It's a real benefit for families juggling multiple schedules."
For residents who prefer learning and leisure activities to competitive sports, the city of North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Department offers teen clubs, open gyms, holiday celebrations and dance, fitness and special interest classes. Other offerings include fitness, cooking, photography, music and parenting classes.
"Whether residents want to learn ballet or belly dancing, ceramics or conversational Spanish, they'll find countless options at Silver Mesa Recreation Center. There's even a new water park for kids," Edwards said.
Craig Ranch Golf Course is located nearby, as is the 11-acre Desert Horizons Park. Newer schools, services and shopping centers are all within easy reach, according to Edwards.
"We couldn't ask for a closer park," Edwards said of Desert Horizons Park, which shares Horizon Park's border.

A neighborhood of two-story homes, Wind Song offers three floor plans measuring 2,294 to 2,945 square feet, each with a three-car garage. Wind Song's layouts can accommodate up to six bedrooms and 41/2 baths. Some plans have a teen room, under-stairway storage, front porch, super family room, super owner's suite and bunkroom. Homes come with Centex Homes' Two-Year Fit and Finish Warranty, which extends the normal one-year coverage to two years at no extra cost, Edwards said.
Centex Homes offers incentive programs to educators, health care providers, firefighters and law enforcement personnel as well as active, reserve, retired and veteran military members, she said.
