How about it, Nevada delegation … are these ‘tea party’ folks dangerous radicals?

Believe me when I tell you that if I were to divulge the name of the loyal Review-Journal reader who wrote me this letter, you'd swear she could be the poster girl for "Henderson Grandmother of the Year." She and her husband are anything but wild-eyed radicals dangerous to the Republic. Which is why I think so many people who took part in the "tea parties" around the nation to protest the taxes and general direction of America's government take great offense at the Obama administration trying to paint people like these, as well as veterans, as potential fodder for dangerous radicals.

It is almost too surreal and it is why, in part, I suspect she doesn't want her name used.

Nevertheless, I think her complaint should be heard ... and here it is. If you ask me our Nevada delegation should speak out in favor of residents like this. Instead, I'm afraid, our Democrat contingent will tend to side with President Obama and our government on this outrageous profiling, and not with Nevada residents. If I'm wrong, then fell free to respond.

Letter to editor

In about three weeks, our family will joyously welcome a new baby, a new grandson. The bad news is with his first breath, he will be in debt for the rest of his life thanks to government officials that do not read bills they sign, look for pork and do not balance the budget like responsible Americans. I will also be ashamed to admit that his 90 year old grandfather has been profiled as a possible right wing terrorist. He fought in WWII in Europe, was shot down, escaped and lived with the underground until liberated after D-Day, he feels he has the right to bear arms, believe in the right to life, not be ashamed to be a Christian, never go bankrupt, raise 5 children, married to the same woman for over 50 years until her death. His grandfather, my husband, served in the military for 20 years, including Viet Nam, and has the same values--therefore he, too, can be profiled as a possible right wing terrorist. This is a profile developed by a government defended by both of these men. We will welcome our new grandson but will he welcome the world we have for him. He will need to work for years of his life to pay for the outrageous spending of his government and possibly be called on to risk his life to defend his country and then will he be profiled as a possible right wing terrorist.

My husband and I went to the tea party today and my husband carried the American flag upside down--a signal of distress.

Please do not print my name, I believe I would be targeted for my feelings.
