Inspirada hosts Child Seekers Dash

Inspirada, a master-planned community in Henderson, will host the Nevada Child Seekers 14th Annual 5K Dash and 1 Mile Stroll on April 5.

The annual event, being held at Inspirada for the first time, is designed to raise funds and awareness of the organization, which assists in the search and recovery of missing children and to provide abduction prevention education to local communities.

On-site registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. at Inspirada's Solista Park. The race begins at 7:45 a.m. and the stroll begins at 7:55 a.m.

Runners or walkers are invited to compete individually or in teams. Interested parties can register in advance by visiting inspirada.com.

In addition to the run and stroll, the public is invited to visit Inspirada from 7 to 11 a.m. to participate in events geared toward child safety -- educational seminars, fingerprinting, child ID kits and games.

Attendees are also encouraged to visit models by builders such as KB Home, Toll Brothers and Meritage Homes.

"Through the help of partners such as Inspirada, local businesses and dedicated Las Vegans, we are sure this year's event will be a huge success," said Stephanie Parker, executive director of Nevada Child Seekers. "The money we raise will sustain and expand upon our current services to protect Nevada's children and bring missing children home."

Nevada Child Seekers was created in 1985 by business and community leaders throughout the state. More than 8,000 children are reported missing each year in Nevada and about 200 are considered endangered or abducted, according to Nevada's Missing Children Clearinghouse in the Nevada Office of the Attorney General.

"Inspirada is the perfect location for the event this year," Parker said. "As this new Henderson community grows and takes shape, and with residents consistently moving in, we have an opportunity to not only reach a new audience for the Nevada Child Seekers, but also promote Inspirada to the community."

Situated on nearly 2,000 acres, Inspirada utilizes a New Urbanism planning concept, which places emphasis on pedestrians and connectivity between residential, commercial and public open spaces.

Currently, KB Home, Meritage Homes and Toll Brothers have single- and multi-family homes available ranging from 1,100 to more than 4,000 square feet with prices beginning in the low-$200,000s.

Of the single-family homes, all three builders are offering Estate Homes, the largest single-family residences available in the southeast community.

Ranging from 2,200 to 4,400 square feet, these homes are available in one or two stories and are designed for residents who desire luxury living. Select models feature open balconies, wraparound porches, casitas, intimate backyards and recessed oversized two- and three-car garages with porte cocheres.

Additional single-family residences available at Inspirada include Village Homes, which vary from 1,900 to nearly 3,500 square feet, some offering front porches with arched or covered entryways as featured characteristics. Garden Homes are two-story residences ranging from 1,350 to more than 2,100 square feet and are planned to front landscaped paseos.

Select builders at Inspirada also are offering multi-family homes. City Homes, or townhomes, provide a style of living reminiscent of that found in major metropolitan cities and are available in two- or three-story floor plans ranging from 1,100 to 2,800 square feet.

Within its nearly 2,000 acres, Inspirada is planned for 300 acres of trails and parks, including three community parks, six neighborhood parks and many miles of trail systems.

Surrounding the open spaces and parks will be 13,500 homes providing residence to about 30,000 individuals.

To visit Inspirada, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, exit Eastern Avenue and head south to St. Rose Parkway. Turn west to Starr/Executive Airport Road and turn south. Follow the signs to the community entrance.

The Inspirada information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
