Irish bookie refunds wagers on Santorum

Showing a bit o' heart, Ireland's largest online bookie is refunding bettors who wagered that Rick Santorum would win the Iowa caucuses.

Santorum emerged from far back in the pack to come within eight votes of topping Mitt Romney in the nation's first measure of the Republican presidential field.

"As far as we’re concerned, the margin for error is just too small and we’ve decided to refund the money,” the betting company Paddy Power said, as reported today by the New York Daily News and the Daily Caller.

The Daily News said the refunds will amount to more than $6,000. The Daily Caller said more than $6,400.
