Is Reid doing too much or too little for Nevada?
Is Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., doing too much or too little for Nevada? It depends on who the National Republican Senatorial Committee is talking to.
The NRSC recently criticized Reid in an e-mail to Nevadans, stating there was no tort reform in health insurance reform bills because Reid is beholden to trial lawyers.
"Given his misplaced values, it’s no surprise he faces such low approval numbers at home," the e-mail stated.
But in a letter Tuesday directed to constituents in Arkansas, the NRSC blasted Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., for allowing Reid, the Senate majority leader, to cut a "special deal" in health insurance reform legislation that shields Nevada from "tens of millions of dollars" in Medicaid contributions.
"What does (Lincoln) think of this special deal her leader cut for his own state while it’s her constituents who will be burdened with paying for massive new health care costs?," the letter stated.
So, the message from the NRSC to Nevadans is Reid is neglecting to deliver for the home state. But the message to Arkansas folks is Reid is delivering too much to Nevada.
