KB Home celebrates anniversary

KB Home is inviting the public to its 50th anniversary celebration this weekend, which takes place at its 25 Las Vegas Valley communities.

Visitors to the communities can learn more about KB Home's $50 Moves You In and 50 percent Off ALL Home Options promotions. They can also register to win $50,000 in the builder's nationwide sweepstakes that ends June 17, according Don Delgiorno, president of KB Home, Las Vegas Division.

"We are very proud to turn 50 and we're happy to share our celebration with our home buyers," he said. "For half a century, KB Home has delivered affordable, quality homes to thousands of families. It's an honor to turn the dream of homeownership into reality for people."

KB Home is building homes in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin. In addition to its U.S. communities, KB Home's majority-owned subsidiary, Kaufman & Broad S.A., is one of the largest builders in France.

The company was founded in 1957 by Donald Kaufman and Eli Broad under the name Kaufman and Broad. Its first community was built in Detroit.

The Water Smart Home program, developed by SNWA in partnership with the Southern Nevada Homebuilders Association, requires participating builders to construct homes that include water-efficient equipment and landscaping.
