KB homes showcases 5 new neighborhoods in valley

KB Home is highlighting five new communities across the Las Vegas Valley this weekend. With a total of 31 Built to

New Energy Plus and Energy Star qualified KB homes are available from the low $100,000s.

When homeshoppers decide to buy a new KB home from any of these five new communities by Sunday, they may be eligible to receive $5,000 worth of options from the KB Home Studio for your new home. The five new communities are Brookhaven, Brighton, Highland Hills and Remington and Kingwood Crest.

Home's Remington is a private, gated community located in the northwest area of the valley on Elkhorn Road just west of Durango Road.

There are five two-story home plans to choose from ranging from 1,386 to 1,867 square feet with prices starting at just $117,990. Two inviting model homes allow you to get a feel for life in a new home from KB Home's Open Series collection.

These homes are efficiently designed to devote the most square footage to the areas of the home where people spend the majority of their time -- the kitchen, dining and living spaces.

Brookhaven has a gated entry and is located west on Elkhorn a couple blocks off Tee Pee. The neighborhood offers five two-story home designs, also from The Open Series, ranging from 1,612 to 2,165 square feet and priced from $122,990.

Brighton is west on Grand Teton Road to Shaumber Road. Brighton is a gated community in the Providence master plan community across the street from Knickerbocker Park. Brighton features seven more home designs from The Open Series priced from the low $130,000s.

Kingwood Crest is Summerlin. Summerlin residents can play golf at one of the nine world-class golf courses and enjoy access to more than 150 miles of community trails that connect the hundreds of community parks.

Own a new energy-efficient KB home from the mid-$200,000s at this community.

Finally, Highland Hills is n the south end of the valley adjacent to the master-planned community of Southern Highlands on Cactus between Decatur and Jones boulevards.

At Highland Hills, there are nine Open Series home designs to choose from including one- and two-story homes ranging from 1,438 to more than 2,500 square feet with prices starting in the $140,000s.

Home shoppers who decide to build a KB home at one of the five new Vegas Valley communities will have access to the company's hands-on Built to Order program. Built to Order means that the homebuyers choose their ideal neighborhood and home site, interior design details, including the kitchen sink.

KB Home homebuyers work with their very own design consultant at the KB Home Studio, a retail-like showroom that showcases a wide variety of interior and exterior design options.

KB Home designs all of its new homes to save homeowners money on monthly expenses, according to company officials.

All new homes in Las Vegas and all of KB Home's new communities across the country are built to the Environmental Protection Agency's strict Energy Star guidelines.

Features like programmable thermostats, radiant-barrier roof lining, low-e windows and efficient heating and cooling systems all help keep household energy utility bills low, according to company officials. In fact, a new Energy Star-qualified KB home is up to 45 percent more efficient than a home built as recently as the 1990s, according to company officials.

Additionally, the company recently announced a new initiative that will provide home shoppers an Energy Performance Guide or EPG, which is a numerical rating of a home's energy efficiency and an estimate of monthly electric and gas costs for a home. KB Home is the first national builder in the industry to provide such a rating for all its homes, according to company officials.

Similar to the miles per gallon rating or MPG, which reflects fuel efficiency and is a standard disclosure when purchasing a car, the KB Home EPG informs homeowners and prospective buyers about the relative energy efficiency of a KB home and provides them with an estimated dollar amount for monthly electric and/or gas energy costs for the home as designed.

This information gives homeowners the ability to more accurately budget their monthly expenses.
