Kentucky man is the 2010 Bubble Boy

Tim McDonald of Lexington, Ky., placed 748th in the World Series of Poker’s Main Event, which made him the 2010 Bubble Boy.

McDonald finished one spot out of the money in the $10,000 buy-in No-limt Hold’em World Championship event at the Rio on Tuesday night, meaning all remaining players are guaranteed at least $19,263.

Of course, the winner of the Main Event takes home more than $8.9 million.

By finishing one spot out of the money, McDonald’s buy-in for the 2011 World Series of Poker’s Main Event will be picked up by the tournament.

McDonald busted out shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Once it was determined that no other player busted, the floor staff walked McDonald to the stage in the center of the Amazon Room in the Rio, and Tournament Director Jack Effel introduced him to the crowd.

"Because of you, Tim, 747 players are now all in the money. You, my friend, have an automatic $10,000 entry into the 2011 WSOP Main Event on behalf of the World Series of Poker."
